Today, we celebrate love. Often, gifts of affection are expressed with cards, chocolate and flowers.
We Americans are guilty of using the words "I Love you" way to lightly. In other parts of the world, the word "love" is a heavy, serious thing, not to be used at the drop of a hat.
Love is most commonly a verb, an action you perform. Americans speakers use love to talk about more that just people. We love our dogs, we love friends, we love music and anything else that makes us happy.
Here are some idioms and phrasal verbs about LOVE and relationships:
Fall head over heels in love.
There are many fish in the sea.
Looking for love in all the wrong places.
Love at first sight.
A match made in heaven.
